Trigger Point Therapy in Raleigh North Carolina

Myofascial Trigger Point Therapy is a therapeutic modality used for the relief of pain and dysfunction originating in the muscles and connective tissue; "myo" means muscle and "fascial" refers to connective tissue. The techniques are the result of lifelong reasearch by Janet Travell M.D and David Simons M.D. Myofascial Trigger Point Therapy (MTPT) is recognized by the American Academy of Pain Management as an effective treatment of myofascial pain and dysfunction.

The goal of MTPT is recovery from or a significant reduction in pain and postural dysfunction. This is achieved through systematic and comprehensive use of a variety of soft tissue manipulation techniques. Myofascial Trigger Point Therapy draws from the techniques of a variety of health and wellness disciplines.

Most patients see excellent results-- restored mobility, function, and reduced pain. Patients with acute injuries due to accidents, sports or repetitive motion see dramatic results and a quick return to their normal activities.  Patients are referred from health care professionals across many disciplines: Chiropractors, Physical Therapists, Physiatrists, Orthopedic Surgeons, Psychiatrists, Rheumatologists, and others.
